Frequently Asked Questions
What types of therapy services do you offer?
At True Self Individual and Family Therapy California, Inc., we provide a range of services, including online family therapy and individual therapy across California. We specialize in supporting individuals and families facing challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders. Therapy is tailored to meet your unique needs to ensure a compassionate and effective experience.
What types of insurance do you accept?
At True Self Individual and Family Therapy California, Inc., we are currently in-network with several major insurance providers to help make therapy accessible and affordable:
- United Healthcare
- Health Net Insurance
- Health First
- Optum
- Aetna
- Cigna
- MHN (Managed Health Network)
- MHNet Behavioral Health
If your insurance provider is not listed, we may still be able to assist you as an out-of-network provider. In such cases, we can provide a superbill that allows you to submit for reimbursement directly with your insurance company. We also offer sliding scale pricing to accommodate different financial needs.

How much does a therapy session cost?
Our pricing varies depending on the service and your financial situation:
Insurance Co-pay: If you have MHN/HealthNet, Aetna, Optum, UnitedHealthcare UBH | UBC, Oxford, or Cigna, we are in-network, and your co-pay will apply.
We aim to keep therapy accessible, whether you are using insurance, sliding scale, or paying the full fee.
Full Fee: $125–$200 per session, depending on the therapist’s expertise.
Sliding Scale: $70–$200 per session, based on household income and dependents. A paystub or W2 may be required to confirm eligibility.
What if I have PPO insurance but not an in-network plan?
If you have a PPO insurance plan that is out-of-network, you can still benefit by requesting a Superbill. A superbill allows you to pay for therapy upfront and seek reimbursement from your insurance provider later. Companies like thesuperbill.com and reimbursify.com can help simplify this process for you.
Do you offer sliding scale pricing?
Yes, we provide sliding scale pricing to make therapy affordable. Rates reflect your household income and number of dependents, ensuring you pay what works for your situation. You may need to provide a W2 or recent paystub when discussing sliding scale options.
